OUR PASSION

Marianne has had a passion for and, has had animals all her life, and started off her rescue journey as:

a foster carer
after 2 foster fails of her own (in addition to her own 2 dogs and 2 cats) she started to pledge on deathrow animals and;
After seeing how unethical some pledge pages were, setup her own ethical pledge group, Dogs and Cats Deserve a Life Too, in September 2022 to help save critical deathrow animals at risk of euthanasia Australia wide which has grown beyond all expectations.
And then in December 2022 she setup her own animal rescue, Goodwill Rescue when she saw a critical mumma to be who no rescue could save. Beautiful Bella was her first rescue save who she had in her own home and ended up having 11 gorgeous babies, by emergency c-section and needing a blood transfusion to boot – it was baptism by fire!
Fast forward a few months and in April 2023 Goodwill Rescue became a registered not for profit registered ACNC charity, Goodwill Rescue Ltd and welcomed 2 executive directors, Claire and Brian.

Since December 2022 we have proudly, safely and ethically:

Goodwill Rescue Limited is also very proud to be a finalist in the Australian Women’s Small Business Awards 2023.

Did you know that:

Approximately 20% of 200,000 dogs (40,000) admitted to Australian pounds each year are euthanised, with cats facing an even more devastating rate of euthanisation. Innocent lives lost through no fault of their own other than being let down by humans
On average, across the board, 264 healthy dogs and cats are killed in Australia every day.
This is a heartbreaking and preventable reality.
Education is key, as is compulsory desexing and tighter laws on Back Yard Breeding.
